Historically, sedation for dental care has been reserved for the most extreme cases. Today, we are able to safely use oral sedatives in a controlled environment for the majority of our adult patients. This enablels our apprehensive patients to receive long neglected dental care. These patients will typically take an oral medication for sedation one hour prior to there dental appointment. They will be accompanied by a responsible party to bring them to the dental office as well as take them home. The patient will have a very comfortable experience whether they are having implants or wisdom teeth extraction.
